Built in Atlanta. Built Around You.

Walker Insurance Group started with a simple conviction: people deserve an advocate in their corner when it comes to insurance — not a salesperson with one carrier and one answer.

Jamie Walker brought something most agency owners don't have: a background in risk management and claims adjusting. That means when we look at your coverage, we're not just reading a policy summary. We're thinking about what happens when something goes wrong — and whether you'll actually be made whole when it does.

Why We Built an Independent Agency

The captive model — where an agent can only offer one carrier's products — has a structural flaw. The agent's loyalty runs to the carrier, not to you. When your rate goes up at renewal, there's nowhere to go. When your claim is disputed, there's no one pulling for your side.

We built Walker Insurance Group on a different premise. As an independent agency, we represent more than 50 carriers, including Auto-Owners, Chubb, Travelers, Liberty Mutual, and Progressive. That access lets us shop your coverage across the market — at first quote and at every renewal — so your policy reflects what's actually competitive, not what one company decides to charge.

From Claims Adjusting to Coverage Advocacy

Jamie's path to founding this agency ran through the claims side of the industry first. Working in risk management and claims adjusting gave her a ground-level view of where policies fall short — the exclusions that surprise people at the worst possible moment, the coverage gaps that leave homeowners or renters underinsured, the fine print that matters enormously when a loss actually happens.

That experience shapes how we approach every client relationship. We're not reviewing your policy for what it includes. We're reviewing it for what could go wrong — and making sure you're covered before it does.

A Regional Agency with a Local Team

Walker Insurance Group is headquartered in Atlanta and licensed across Georgia, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Our team — Jamie, Zach, and Leslie — handles your account directly. There's no call center, no handoff to a national service desk, and no automated renewal process that nobody reviews.

When your situation changes, when a renewal comes in higher than expected, or when you need to file a claim, you reach a person who knows your file. That's not a feature we added — it's how we've operated from the start.

One Question We Always Ask First

Before we recommend anything, we want to understand what you actually need covered — and what a real loss would cost you. That question drives everything: which carriers we approach, which coverage limits we recommend, and how we structure your policy for the long term.

If you're looking for the cheapest number on a comparison page, we're probably not the right fit. If you want someone who will read your policy, explain what it does and doesn't cover, and shop the market on your behalf every year, we'd like to earn that role.

Frequently Asked Questions About Walker Insurance Group

  • Is Walker Insurance Group the same as Walker Insurance in South Georgia or Walker Insurance Allstate Group in Tucker?

No. Walker Insurance Group is a separate, independently owned agency headquartered in Atlanta. We have no affiliation with Walker Insurance in South Georgia or with Walker Insurance Allstate Group, which is a captive Allstate agency in Tucker. We are an independent agency representing more than 50 carriers.

  • What does it mean that you're an independent insurance agency?

It means we're not contracted exclusively to any single carrier. We represent a broad market of insurers and can place your coverage with whichever carrier offers the best combination of price, coverage, and financial strength for your situation. We work for you, not for an insurance company.

  • What states does Walker Insurance Group serve?

We're licensed in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee, with additional appointments in select other states. Our primary market is Atlanta and the greater Georgia region, but we regularly serve clients across our full five-state footprint.

  • What makes your agency different from an online insurance marketplace?

Online marketplaces generate quotes and hand you off. We build a coverage relationship. We review your full situation, recommend appropriate limits, and re-shop your policies at renewal — not just at first quote. And when you have a claim, you have a team that knows your account and can help you navigate it.

  • Do you re-shop my coverage at renewal, or only when I first sign up?

We re-shop at renewal. If a better option exists in the market when your policy comes up for renewal, we'll find it and present it to you. That's one of the core advantages of working with an independent agency rather than a captive agent who can only offer one carrier's rates.
